Kapsule

about.

I designed Kapsule as a bilingual digital time capsule platform that reintroduces slowness and anticipation into digital memory. In a fast-paced culture where moments are instantly captured and quickly forgotten, I wanted to create a system that protects memory instead of rushing it. Through a lock-and-wait approach, users create capsules that reopen at a chosen future date, encouraging intentional documentation and reflection. By combining minimal design with emotionally driven interaction, I explore how technology can help us reconnect with time rather than race against it.

how it works.

Kapsule allows users to create digital capsules by adding photos, videos, or written messages and choosing a future date to unlock them. Capsules can be created privately for personal reflection or shared with friends and family as a collective memory. Once sealed, the capsule remains locked and cannot be accessed until the selected time arrives. This delay builds anticipation and encourages users to be more intentional about what they choose to save. When the capsule finally opens, the experience is designed to feel reflective and meaningful rather than instant and disposable.

I designed Kapsule using Figma, focusing on simplicity, clarity, and emotional restraint. The interface is intentionally minimal, using soft typography, muted tones, and generous spacing to reflect the concept of slowness and anticipation. The lock-and-unlock interaction was carefully designed to feel calm and meaningful rather than dramatic or distracting. Every design choice, from layout to small interactions, supports the idea that memory should feel protected, intentional, and reflective.

Some moments deserve to be opened slowly — designed not for speed, but for reflection.
